چکیده

ingle-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) genes are associated with the onset and progression of multiple cancers humans. These SNPs potential biomarkers for predicting cancer risk. The variable frequency lncRNA prostate cancer-associated 1 (PRNCR1) rs1456315 C/T polymorphism may affect different ethnic groups differently, however, information lacks Saudi population. aim this study was to assess allelic distribution PRNCR1 Arabian population, as well compare it other populations around world. PUBMED (Medline) related web-databases were referred extract data from epidemiological studies performed groups. variant allele (C) found be 34.62% a significantly observed USA (p=0.01), Iran (p < /em><0.007) China (p=0.01) ethnicity, when occurrence is compared those populations. Present results reveal distinct pattern which due differences. findings could assist risk assessment people harbouring SNP their subsequent susceptibility.

Introduction & Objective: Adiponectin exerts anti-tumor effect through connection to its receptor. Some studies have shown that polymorphism in Adipor1 results in insulin resistance, diabetic type 2 and colorectal cancer (CRC). The purpose of this study is to investigate the incidence mutant allele of adiponectin receptor 1 polymorphism rs2275738 and to examine the association of genetic vari...

GSTM1 gene polymorphism and the risk of colorectal cancer in a Saudi Arabian population.

The enzyme glutathione S-transferase Mu 1 (GSTM1) is encoded by the GSTM1 gene. Polymorphisms in GSTM1 affect the detoxifying function of the enzyme variants. This forms the basis of the debate about the impact of the GSTM1 null/present genotype on colorectal carcinoma risk. We tested the potential influence of GSTM1 polymorphisms on the development of colorectal cancer. DNA extracted from 83 s...

A2 allele polymorphism of the CYP17 gene and prostate cancer risk in an iranian population.

BACKGROUND Studies have shown that alterations of steroid hormone metabolism, particularly involving testosterone, affect the risk of prostate cancer. Therefore, genetic variation in genes of enzymes which are involved could be of importance. The gene most interest is CYP17, whose enzyme product has an essential role in testosterone hormone synthesis. Some studies have indicated that the A2 all...

The role of Ile3434Thr XRCC7 gene polymorphism in Differentiated Thyroid Cancer risk in an Iranian population

Background: The aim of this study was to understand any association between differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and Ile3434Thr XRCC7 gene polymorphism (GenBank accession number: rs7830743). DTC is the most prevalent thyroid neoplasm, which includes papillary and follicular cell carcinoma. XRCC7 gene encodes a protein that functions in non-homologous end joining DNA repair pathway. Non-synony...
